Pros and Cons of Vendor Coordinators?

Almost every place you look there are warnings to do your due diligence when signing up for an event.  Check that the coordinator is the real coordinator, et al.  But there really isn't a place to rate the coordinators - do they do a good job promoting the event? Do they offer refunds such as if they cancel the event?

I've had both pros and cons of vendor coordinators - I've had coordinators cancel the event and not refund but have given credit to attend another event....I have had some refund part of the fees (even as a credit).  I've had coordinators jury a show with limits but once attending those limits were not accurate (my last show with 4F Renaissance for example had  3 other vendors with exact products! and another 3 that offered products along with their normal items - so that was 7 vendors out of 14 selling my product line).  I've had coordinators not state they did not refund but after (yes this same event) they refused to refund future sessions that were paid for.

I've had excellent vendors - Armored Cow, Denver Fair and any events by Leslie in Mooresville and Beth in Monroe, NC all have done fabulous jobs coordinating, promoting and all around great people to work with!

I've got my favorites and I have groups I will never vend with again.  As vendors we see the listings and we do our diligence but in some cases we are just going to have bad experiences.  I'm not aware of any places we can "warn" other vendors but it may be a great opportunity for someone to start.

Wish you all the best and if you have seen me at an event and want to know my personal experience feel free to reach out!
